I am Rachel Giizhikkwe, the face behind Sound Yarn & Fibre.
Originally started as a blog, With Every Stitch, started back in 2011 after the birth of my daughter. From testing knitting and pattern designing to dying and spinning yarn. I have grown and changed a lot over the years.
I am so proud of where this journey has brought me!
Being a Metis artist, I find peace and connection to my culture and community through my art, whether it is fibre, beadwork or painting, working with my hands and sharing my passion for creating is so important to me.
My husband, Ryan, an Emmy Award Winning Software Engineer by day, gamer and tinkerer by night, he is the brains behind our Circular Sock Machine design.
His passion for creating innovative and easy to use tools is very important to him. His meticulous attention to detail means every CSM that we create has been inspected by him.
Whether its gardening or creating a functional smart home, this adventure of creating something together has been a wonderful way for us to complement each others strengths.
